Discover the Best Essential Oils for High Blood Pressure and How to Use them!

Are there essential oils for high blood pressure? Yes, there are, and we are going to discuss them here today!

Essential Oils for High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure also called hypertension is a “silent killer” because a lot of people have it but do not know that they do until it is too late!

Uncontrolled high BP can lead to heart attack, stroke or even death.

In fact, according to the American Heart Association, 1 in 3 adults in the USA has high blood pressure.

(*See Note at bottom of page)
My dad had hypertension and took pills all his life and later died of an enlarged heart caused by the pills.

I was diagnosed with high blood pressure in my late 30s. Unfortunately, none of the drugs prescribed for me worked to lower my BP.

These blood pressure pills DIDN’T help to bring down my numbers.

Yet they gave me a lot of negative side effects….chronic fatigue, aches and pains, dry mouth, which eventually started affecting my gums. (You may want to read this if you have gum issues)

So, I was like, why should I continue taking these pills? They are NOT working… instead, they are giving me unpleasant side effects! So I was really frustrated!

I have always been interested in natural health. And yes, my frustration with my BP medications helped push me to further learn more about how to support my health using natural solutions.

My goal was to find something that can help lower my BP and without nasty side effects.

My quest led me to discovering essential oils that help with hypertension and other ways to lower blood pressure naturally.

It is important to note that, although you can use essential oils for high blood pressure, this disease is very serious and should not be taken lightly.

So, be sure to seek professional medical help if you suspect you have hypertension. Consult with your doctor before using essential oils.

And do NOT stop taking your blood pressure medication without first consulting with your doctor.

Other tips on How to Lower Blood Pressure Naturally

Yes, there are essential oils for high blood pressure, but they do not work in isolation. There are other things you need to do if you want to see those numbers go down naturally!

And don’t forget to consult with your doctor if you suspect that you have high BP.

Healthy Diet

This can never be over-emphasized. You are what you eat! Go for natural foods that are high in anti-oxidants – beets and greens are great for hypertension. Avoid processed and fatty foods!

Reduce Salt

Eliminate or reduce your sodium consumption because it contributes to high BP.

Increase Potassium

Most of our modern day diets are high in sodium and low in potassium. So increasing your potassium intake will help balance it out. You can increase your potassium intake by eating potassium rich foods such as banana, yogurt and sweet potato.

Hibiscus Tea

Hibiscus is one of my favorite teas as it helps to relax my muscles and calm my nerves. It also helps me sleep better.

Ginger Tea

Filled with anti-inflammatory properties, ginger is another great tea for those with hypertension.

Exercise

This helps to improve circulation. Aerobic exercise is particularly good for the heart. It also helps to reduce stress!

Reduce Stress

Try to keep your stress levels low. We all have stress, especially in these days of fast paced lifestyle. But you can find ways to manage your stress naturally so that it does not add to your hypertension.

Eliminate Caffeine/Quit Smoking

Caffeine and nicotine contribute to blood pressure increase, so you will do your health a lot of favor by eliminating these two culprits.

That being said it is my belief that essential oils can help. They can be used to decrease stress levels, to calm one, and to help one get a good night’s sleep. These all lead to lower blood pressure readings!
